The Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® (UPSTAR) has named Mary Sherer, RE/MAX Crossroads, its 2022 REALTOR® of the Year.
The REALTOR® of the Year is selected by the recipient’s peers and is UPSTAR’s top award, recognizing outstanding volunteer contributions on behalf of the association, the real estate industry, and the community. It is given to a REALTOR® member who exemplifies the highest level of professional conduct in serving the needs of the public.
Sherer serves on the UPSTAR MLS and Indiana Regional MLS Board of Directors. She also serves on UPSTAR’s Community Outreach Committee, where she is an integral part of planning and participating in outreach projects that serve the underprivileged and disabled members of the community. Sherer has been actively involved with the Humane Fort Wayne organization for years.
The REALTOR® of the Year honor was just one of several service awards presented during UPSTAR’s General Membership meeting in December. Additional awards included:
- Hall of Fame Award—Rudy Koch, Prodigy REALTORS®.
The Hall of Fame Award is given for exceptional and outstanding service to the community and the real estate profession over a lifetime. Koch has served and supported the UPSTAR association for more than 30 years as a member of the association. - Affiliate of the Year— Kristy Ottinger, Three Rivers Federal Credit Union
Ottinger received this award for her exceptional service and support of UPSTAR’s charitable outreach events. - Outstanding Service Award— Jody Holloway, Coldwell Banker Holloway
Holloway received this award for his leadership, volunteerism, and commitment in serving the real estate profession and the community in Adams, Jay, and Wells Counties. - President’s Award—Adam Smith, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group
This award was given to Smith by the 2022 UPSTAR President Joel Essex for his assistance and support of Essex during his term as president. - Special Projects Award—Casey Lange, Upstate Alliance of REALTORS®
This award was given to Lange for her efforts in growing the association’s Young Professional Network by 700 percent in recent years. - Community Service Award—Joe Mishak, Aardvark Home Inspections.
This award was given to Mishak for his volunteerism and dedication to UPSTAR’s community service initiatives, as well as other charitable work in the Fort Wayne area.
