The Upstate Alliance of Realtors® (UPSTAR), at a charity concert on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, raised $2,825 in monetary donations and collected an estimated $1,000 in material donations to support local veterans at the Shepherd’s House.
“Housing is at the core of our mission,” said David Belew, Executive Officer for Upstate Alliance of REALTORS®. “Shepherd’s House provides transitional housing to men who have done an invaluable service for our country. We are privileged to support them in their recovery to health and wholeness.”
For the health and safety of everyone that attended, the patriotic event was held outside at the Landmark Conference Centre parking lot. The Hubie Ashcraft Band performed on the flatbed semi-tractor trailer rig in front of an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 150 REALTORS® and Affiliate members of UPSTAR and their guests.
“Shepherd’s House is excited to have been the recipient charity in 2021 from UPSTAR with very much needed donated items and financial support, said Tracey Barr, House Manager at the Shepherd’s House. “The year 2020 has been very lean, as all our fundraisers were canceled due to the pandemic. These fundraisers help our organization meet the needs of our Veterans and make them feel valued by the love and support of our community.”
The charity concert was made possible through the volunteerism and participation of the following Affiliate members of UPSTAR including 3 Rivers FCU, Aardvark Home Inspectors, Allstate – Jonathan Morales, Bucher Family Allstate LLC, Bailey & Wood, Diamond Residential, Fidelity National Title, First Federal Savings Bank, Hallmark Home Mortgage, Home Warranty, Meridian Title, Metropolitan Title, National Property Inspections, North American Title Company, Partners 1st, Paul Davis, Your Environmental Services, Ruoff Mortgage, Shamrock Home Inspections, Teachers Credit Union and Trademark Title.
