Today, the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (UPSTAR MLS) released its January 2022 local housing market report. Comparing last month’s figures to the same timeframe in 2021, the leading market indicators are as follows:

  • New Listings decreased 0.2 percent to 577.
  • Pending Sales were up 11.2 percent to 6261.
  • Closed Sales increased 13.6 percent to 510.
  • Inventory levels shrank 11.9 percent to 457 units.
  • The Median Sales Price increased 10.1 percent to $185,000.
  • Percent of Original List Price Received increased 1.4 percent to 98.3.
  • Months Supply of Inventory was down 14.3 percent to 0.6 months.

“As the housing inventory continues to decline, buyers looking for that dream home will face some challenges,” said UPSTAR MLS 2022 President Adam Smith. “The inventory of homes for sale in Allen County hovered around 230 in January, which means fierce competition among buyers for that perfect home.”

The data from the January 2022 Monthly Indicators report tells consumers how the northeastern Indiana housing market is performing according to nine different indicators with comparisons to 2020 and 2021.
