Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Selects New Executive Officer

Fort Wayne, Ind. ( July 7, 2020 ) — The Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® (UPSTAR) is pleased to announce that David Belew has been selected to fill the Executive Officer position for UPSTAR and its subsidiary UPSTAR Multiple Listing Service.“We are excited to welcome David to UPSTAR,” said Beth Walker, Search Committee Chair & 2020 UPSTAR MLS President. “We believe David has the experience, enthusiasm and vision to take our Association to the next level.”

Belew, a Midwest native, has spent most of his career in the Association field. In 1999, he started at the American Bar Association in Chicago as a Help Desk Analyst. During his 16 years with the ABA, he took on roles with increasing responsibility, eventually assuming the role of Division Director of Marketing Operations from 2006 to 2015. In 2016, Belew served as the Membership Director for the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors. He began his time in the Real Estate world in 2017, when he moved to Hawaii and became the Chief Staff Executive for REALTORS® Association of Maui and their 1,700 members. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from The University of Phoenix.

When he’s not a work, Belew enjoys taking long walks, playing strategy board games and being involved in the local community theatre scene.

Effective July 27, Belew will assume the role of UPSTAR’s Executive Officer, responsible for formulating and executing the programs and activities of the Association to further its mission, strategic plan and objectives.UPSTAR serves REALTORS® in Adams, Allen, Huntington, Jay, Wells and Whitley Counties.
