UPSTAR MLS Releases July Housing Market Report

August 21, 2015

Today, the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (UPSTAR MLS) released its July 2015 local housing market report. Comparing last month’s figures to the same timeframe in 2014, the leading market indicators are as follows:

  • New Listings decreased 7.7 percent to 1,061.
  • Pending Sales were up 10.6 percent to 784
  • Closed Sales increased 4.1 percent to 814.
  • Inventory levels shrank 22.4 percent to 2,543 units.
  • The Median Sales Price increased 5.0 percent to $125,950.
  • Percent of Original List Price Received increased 1.0 percent to 95.0.
  • Months Supply of Inventory was down 30.4 percent to 3.9 months

“Housing Inventory continues to be at historic lows creating a vacuum of competition for housing that comes on to the market,” said David Mervar, UPSTAR 2015 President. “This low inventory, combined with low interest rates, has helped housing prices increase with sellers seeing multiple offers. The demand is still outpacing the supply and seems to be a trend that will carry out through the end of the year. Northeastern Indiana is booming with business, and it has been a welcome blessing to the region.”

The data from the July 2015 Monthly Indicators report tells consumers how the northeastern Indiana housing market is performing according to nine different indicators with comparisons to 2013 and 2014.
