UPSTAR MLS Releases June Housing Market Report

Today, the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (UPSTAR MLS) released its June 2015 local housing market report. Comparing last month’s figures to the same timeframe in 2014, the leading market indicators are as follows:

• New Listings decreased 4.8 percent to 1,042.
• Pending Sales were up 8.1 percent to 812.
• Closed Sales increased 4.8 percent to 803.
• Inventory levels shrank 21.5 percent to 2,492 units.
• The Median Sales Price increased 7.9 percent to $124,900.
• Percent of Original List Price Received increased 0.2 percent to 94.9.
• Months Supply of Inventory was down 29.6 percent to 3.8 months.

“Market still appears strong for sellers with serious buyers gobbling up the inventory,” said David Mervar, 2015 UPSTAR President. “Historically low interest rates continue to help the real estate market thrive while bank repo properties continue to dwindle. If anytime was a good time to sell or buy a home, it is now.”

The data from the June 2015 Monthly Indicators report tells consumers how the northeastern Indiana housing market is performing according to nine different indicators with comparisons to 2013 and 2014.
