UPSTAR MLS Releases August Housing Market Report

Today, the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (UPSTAR MLS) released its August 2017 local housing market report. Median Sales Price was significantly higher over last year. Comparing last month’s figures to the same timeframe in 2016, the leading market indicators are as follows:

  • New Listings increased 10.5 percent to 1,072.
  • Pending Sales were down 7.8 percent to 747.
  • Closed Sales decreased 1.2% to 830
  • Inventory levels shrank 13.3 percent to 1,735 units.
  • The Median Sales Price increased 6.3 percent to $134,900.
  • Percent of Original List Price Received increased 1.6 percent to 96.8.
  • Months Supply of Inventory was down 13.8 percent to 2.5 months.

“Despite fewer homes for sale, contract signings are up in Indiana,” said Kim Ward, 2017 UPSTAR President. “And so are prices because of the competitive market.”

The data from the August 2017 Monthly Indicators report tells consumers how the northeastern Indiana housing market is performing according to nine different indicators with comparisons to 2015 and 2016.
