Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® today released its April 2012 local housing market report. The market indicators for April 2012 compared to April 2011 include the following:

  • New Listings increased 12.3 percent to 1,124.

  • Closed Sales increased 8.1 percent to 521.
  • The Median Sales Price increased 2.1 percent to $102,000.
  • Percent of Original List Price Received decreased 2.9 percent to 91.6.
  • Months Supply of Inventory was down 6.8 percent to 7.7 months.

“April was a strong month for our local & surrounding counties housing market,” said Tug Pierson, 2012 UPSTAR MLS President. “The forward indicators are vibrant as Closed & Pending Sales and New Listings show strong gains. While the supply-demand trends look favorable for sellers for the first-time in years, the historically low interest rates continue & the inventory is competitively priced—making it a great time to invest for qualified buyers.”
